Cleaning the Trym and Hazel Brook

What we are Doing

Trout in the Trym are planning to remove all the things in the river system that are not good for the natural environment, or harm the appearance of the river system. Items like branches and other natural wood will be left in as they provide ‘food’ for the river.

From November there have been two activities each week to do this work, on Friday from 10am to 12 noon and Sunday from 11am to 1pm. We are always looking for volunteers to help with this work. Great care is taken to ensure that activities are safe. Activities are cancelled if there are fewer than four adults involved or the weather or river conditions are too poor.

Notes

There are some sections that have not been looked at yet but are not expected to be bad becasue they are in areas that are maintained, these include Henbury Golf Club, Westbury Wildlife Park, Badock’s Wood and the Blaise Castle Estate.
